![]() ![]() ![]() The scoop in brief: Gibson, through Epiphone, tried to make a lower end model of a Gibson ES-335 in Japan, but misjudged and underestimated the cultural integrity that the Japanese workers maintained in the quality and level of their craftsmanship. Check it out at: /index.php/Elitist_Archtop. If you are seriously looking at this ad, then you probably know the story behind the Epiphone Elitist series. Also note, this is an Elite model, not an Elitist, which means it was one of the earlier ones crafted before Epiphone had to change the name to Elitist, which makes it worth more for re-sale or as a collectible. I also upgraded the original pickups to the clearer and more sophisticated Seymour Duncan ‘Jazz neck’ and ‘Alnico II Pro HB’ for the bridge. This thing sounds amazing and plays smooth as silk! The only blemish, I inherited from the prior owner, is a minor surface one in the finish near the input jack, but not noticeable when performing. I replaced pickup switch with higher quality Switchcraft model. Comes with hard shell case, also in great condition. I respect and take care of my equipment ! No structural issues or repairs at all. I am the second owner, and the guitar has been stored in a smoke-free, pet-free environment. ![]() For Sale: Epiphone Elite 1963 ES-335 DOT, vintage sunburst,GREAT condition. ![]()
